Herbivore

Since I got called out for not being a socially conscious enough vegan for buying freakin' payless shoes, I decided to throw down some cash at Herbivore. T-shirts, a sweatshirt, zines, cookbooks, stickers and buttons. Now I'm feelin' like more like a righteous vegan. And I just kinda wanted to wear "praise seitan" at the gym.*
Then I'll be scoring more righteous points at Komedy for Karma featuring Janeane Garafalo, Gary Gullman, Dan Piraro and maybe Dave Attell in NYC on February 11th to benefit the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary.

*I haven't actually been to the gym lately (there's one across the street from my job) but now I have some incentive.

Cool stuff!

I'm not above shopping at Payless. Maybe not completely socially conscious, but cheap. Sometimes you need cheap.

No worries. You're definitely a righteous vegan!

Awesome stuff! I have been eyeing that cow hugger t-shirt for some time now! You are an awesome, socially-conscious vegan and I'll kick anyone who disagrees with me. And I'll make sure I'm wearing Payless shoes. Yup, vegan and violent! That's me.

Ok, I probably wouldn't kick someone. I'm not actually violent. But I'd really, really, really think about it. And I'd glare.

I just found your blog - great title! As for payless - I looked all over my fairly big town for a pair of vegan cold weather/work boots, and finally found them at payless. No apologies necessary :)

When purchasing dance shoes you want to make sure you purchase the correct size. Don't rely on your same shoe size you bought last time. Sometimes your feet will change and you need to make sure you get a correct fitting. You want to have the associate helping you at the store measure your shoe size every time you purchase new shoes.

wowzers - can't believe someone got on your about payless shoes. i'm not above them either - yeah, they may be made in china, but if i can't afford expensive vegan shoes and i need shoes - it's gonna be payless or DSW or something. you've gotta do what you can, don't ever feel bad about that.

Papa Tofu ROCKS! kittee's recipes are all so awesome! looooove the tee-shirt, too! you should at least walk by the gym in it! :)

Check out all those cool books and zines! Talk about a haul!

Some of my favorite shoes come from Payless. Online shoes are so expensive, or at least the ones I've found. You do what you can, you know?

You're like a totally righteous vegan fellow child of the eighties! I'm guilty too of the cheap vegan shoes..I love Mudd brand. I wish they were made here and using less plastic..ugh!

Look at all your vegan goodies! You even got Kittee's Papa Tofu!

Both of Tara's comments are so cute! And hey, I'd glare too. There, you have a two-people team of glarers behind you!

someone called you out for wearing leather free payless shoes??? wow...i wear payless shoes too jenn. no worries from this corner of the vegan blogosphere. some of us understand that we're not all rich and can't afford expensive "vegan" labeled clothing.

i will stand next to tara in my payless airwalks and glare with a mighty raised eyebrow while thinking about kicking them.
